Pauses and breaks

Stop the clock without losing your place — for five minutes or for as long as it takes.

A pause freezes the timer while the task stays active and ready. A break is a pause with a duration: five, ten, fifteen or thirty minutes, after which BootTask puts you back where you were. Both are ordinary parts of a working day, not exceptions to be justified.

How it works

  • Pause the timer from the Focus Bar; the task remains the active one.
  • Take a break with a set duration and the bar counts down to the resume.
  • Breaks are scheduled with Chrome alarms, so they survive the extension being suspended.
  • When the break ends the timer restarts from where it paused — nothing is lost and nothing is retroactively counted.
  • Optional notification tells you the break is over, if you asked for notifications.
